The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation has joined the Medical Center of Arlington in helping to make learning aids that focus on fitness and healthy eating habits for some Arlington ISD fifth graders.

Wrist coaches, such as the Cutters Triple Play Maker Wrist Coach or the Neumann Triple Game Plan Wrist Coach have widely been regarded as a football accessory. In football, they are used to list plays for easy recall on the field. But wrist coaches aren’t just for football anymore. Because of a computer program made by Own the Zone Sports, wrist coaches are now being used by top baseball and softball teams as a new way to keep up with on the field signs and signals.

Starting this 2010 seasons, Little League is adding a new “50 – 70″ Pilot program for children ages 12 – 13 years old. The goal of this program is to provide an intermediate field size and level of play for young teens.

ESPN Announces New 3D Sports Network for 2010 thumbnail

In December, we got wind of a deal made by the PGA Tournament and Sony to broadcast the first ever golf tournament in 3-D. At the time, this made me wonder what this would mean for the future of sports broadcasting. Well, the answer to that question has come sooner than I ever expected. On January 5th, ESPN announced they will be unveiling the first ever 3-D sports television station in 2010. Once this comes out, you will be able to enjoy not just golf, but many other sports in 3D!

MLB Donates $1 Milion to Haiti Relief thumbnail

The Major League Baseball Commissioner, Bud Selig, stated that on behalf of the league, and all thirty teams, a $1 million contribution will be donated to help the victims of the Haiti Earthquake. This is an honorable move on the part of the MLB, and a poignant gesture towards the people of Haiti.
