Professional athletes know the importance of keeping their fitness levels high. Teaching children these principles is important as well. The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation has joined the Medical Center of Arlington in helping to make learning aids that focus on fitness and healthy eating habits for some Arlington ISD fifth graders.
The Texas Rangers MCA Fitness All-Stars is using the Texas Ranger team mascot, Captain, as a way to get the kids interested in learning about the different kinds of activities that will help them have healthy lifestyles.
If you have children that do not attend Arlington ISD, no need to feel left out. Texasrangers.com has posted the same videos on their website that the fifth graders got to watch.
To me, this is a great way to encourage kids to get active and healthy. What better way to entice children than a local team icon? More teams should join in on helping their communities shape up. What do you think?
