Tired of sliding into home to make the winning play and ending up with raspberries, gravel burns, and bruises all down your leg? The Schutt TT-SRS Slide Rite Training Aid Sliding Mat is the answer you’ve been looking for. I’ve used this product and recommend it to all who ask.

Conditions

This mat can be used in just about any condition you’re willing to practice in. You can use this mat with or without your cleats on. As long as the surface is flat underneath, you should have no problems finding a place to use your training mat. A combination of sliding techniques were practiced including basic, hook, and pop up.

Appearance

The Schutt TT-SRS Slide Rite Training Aid can vary in color, but usually comes in a shade of black or blue. It has a 2 ½ inch thick foam mat and is offered in two different sizes. The Pro Size is 53″ x 14′ x 2 1/2″ where the Standard Size is 42″ X 12′ X 2 1/2″. It has a canvas sheet attached at one end.

Feel

The Schutt TT-SRS Slide Rite Training Aid is smooth and has a slight “slippery” feeling. The material gives just the right amount of friction to make it easy to learn how to slide properly.

Performance

I love the way the Schutt TT-SRS Slide Rite Training Aid took away my fear of “hitting the dirt”. With this aid I was able to practice my sliding skills no matter what the weather conditions were. I also slid numerous times with out ending up with any scrapes or scratches. The only down fall is you have to “reset” the Slide Rite after each slide by pulling the top sheet back up to the other end.

This training aid would work best at a team practice and, speaking from experience, can be turned into a game that lets the whole team participate.

Overall

I recommend this training aid to anyone looking to perfect their sliding skills in a safe, fun manner. The design makes it easy to learn and provides confidence with each slide. The Schutt TT-SRS Slide Rite Training Aid would make a great team training tool and completely fulfills its purpose. The Schutt TT-SRS Slide Rite Training Aid gets 5 out of 5 stars from me.
